A Spanish latte is what happens when a latte decides to be a little more indulgent: coffee dissolved in hot water, stirred with condensed milk, then poured over cold milk and ice. The secret is that condensed milk, it makes the whole thing silky, sweet, and impossible to put down. Served over ice, it's one of the best cold coffees you can make at home.
No machine required. Just bold coffee, condensed milk, and a glass of ice.
Pick your coffee
- Espresso — stronger and more bitter. The classic choice; it stands up to the sweet condensed milk.
- Americano — lighter and smoother, for a gentler Spanish latte.
Espresso is the traditional pick here, but both work beautifully.
The amounts below are our test-kitchen version — adjust the sweetness to taste.
The recipe
- 1 serving Ten15 freeze-dried Espresso (or Americano)
- 60 ml hot water
- 1½ tbsp condensed milk
- 120 ml cold milk
- 85 g ice
Method:
- Dissolve the coffee in 60 ml hot water. Stir in the condensed milk until smooth, then let it cool for a minute.
- Fill a glass with cold milk and ice.
- Pour the sweet coffee over the top and stir.
For the smoothest, most café-like blend, a handheld frother is worth using when you mix the coffee and condensed milk — it dissolves everything cleanly. Optional, but it makes a difference.
Make it your way
- Sweeter — add another half-tablespoon of condensed milk.
- Stronger — use Espresso and a full serving.
- Frappe-style — blend it all with the ice for a frosty, milkshake-like version.
Why it works at home
A Spanish latte at a café is bold coffee, condensed milk, and a healthy markup. You already have two of those three at home — and one Ten15 sachet supplies real, freeze-dried coffee for a fraction of the café price.

Which coffee is best for a Spanish latte? Ten15 freeze-dried Espresso for a bold, traditional version, or Americano for a lighter one.
Can I make it less sweet? Yes — use less condensed milk, or add more cold milk and ice to balance it.
Do I need a machine? No. Dissolve the freeze-dried coffee in hot water; a frother helps but a spoon works.
